GOLF CLUB WITH HISTORY

Both 18-hole and 9-hole courses we play on were opened to the public in 1976 and Broome Manor Golf Club, based within Broome Manor Golf Complex, was established a year later. In November 2014, a 75-year lease was acquired from Swindon Borough Council by Twigmarket Ltd. The extensive golf and leisure facilities at Broome Manor Golf Complex are managed by Community Golf Leisure Trust Ltd.

We are proud to boast that Broome Manor Golf Club was where David Howell started out, becoming a European Tour player with a number of European tour victories under his belt, and was a member of the winning European Ryder Cup Team in 2004 and 2006.

Several of the founder members of the golf club are still active members and the Club Championship has been sponsored, since it began in 1978, by Deacons Jewellers of Old Town, Swindon.

All four sections (Men, Ladies, Senior Men and Juniors) are successful and well supported, with over 100 single handicap players, a measure of the club’s strength.

We have a very active and strong junior section, split into Cubs, Tigers, Super Tigers – a great way to get into the game and make new friends. We work closely with Swindon Premier Golf Academy, based at the Complex and organise many junior competitions throughout the year.

One of our most prestigious junior events is the Tiger Cup, held in October each year. In true Ryder Cup style, the teams represent Europe and USA with much rivalry between them. This has become quite well-known in the county and beyond, with good luck messages received last year from David Howell and Francesco Molinari!
